NW Mint Silver Bars

Why Silver Bars

Buying silver bullion is not as cut and dry as one might think. If you wish to own physical silver, you must decide on the type of product you wish to hold, and weigh its advantages vs. disadvantages.

Silver bars, with their flat and rectangular shape, are ideal for storage purposes because they can be stacked quite compactly in any smaller sized home safe or bank safety deposit box. One of the few downsides to silver bars, especially the larger one, is that they may not be as liquid as smaller sized silver bullion products. However, that is inconsequential if you plan to hold silver for the long-term.

Where To Purchase Silver Bars

Perhaps the best place to buy silver bars of all different sizes is the NW Mint. With operations based out of the Pacific Northwest, they not only buy and sell every variety of precious metal, but they are also the largest privately held silver mint in the world.

Their minting operation is on par with the world’s largest mints, and the quality of their products is indistinguishable.  Among the products they mint are a complete line of silver bars.

1 oz Silver Bars

Weighing a full troy ounce, these bars are priced similarly to other 1 oz silver products, making them easily obtainable for any sized budget.

5 oz Silver Bars

These mid-sized bars offer a means holding silver in a larger amount that silver coins or rounds, while not requiring a large investment. They also be used for unique gifts that have the potential to increase in value.

10 oz Silver Bars

At 10 troy ounces, these silver bars are a great way to hold larger amounts of silver while still maintaining good liquidity. These bars are large enough to hold a good deal of value, yet small enough to be used for trade and bartering purposes.

100 oz Silver Bars

The choice of many veteran silver investors who plan on holding silver for the long haul are the 100 oz NW Mint silver bars. These bars store quite nicely, as well as having lower premium prices of the silver spot than smaller sized bars. While they may not be as liquid as smaller versions, they are a great way to store a good amount of wealth in a relatively small and compact space.

Their bars are freshly minted, call me crazy, but I like new product as opposed to old.
